D. L. Williams was extremely fair, honest, and fast. They didn’t put any pressure on me, and explained all of my options very well. I ended up doing a full roof replacement and they did an extremely great job.

I have had a very good experience with D.L Williams roofing from start to finish. They communicated with me without delay, came for the quote in a timely manner and scheduled my garage roof replacement without constant delays. They sent thorough invoices , supervisors checked in with me about any questions I had , and the roof technicians did excellent work and cleaned up very nicely. I chose them also because their quote was much more cost efficient than other quotes I received . ( a BIG appreciation on that!) I highly recommend them.

I don't remember the young man's name (short term memory) but he gave me a courtesy call letting me know when to expect him, he was polite, nice smile & professional. He took pictures of the damage so I could see what was causing the leak & explained how he could repair it & gave me a fair quote upfront. I gave him the go ahead to repair the roof leak & he even told me how to get rid of the unsightly water stains on my ceiling. The whole process took less than an hour. I'm a very satisfied customer & will call this company again.

Recently, purchased a house in Dinwiddie County and needed a new roof and gutters. Great job from beginning to end! Knowledgeable about the products. Did a thorough inspection of the roof for the estimate and was able to discuss issues with us and answer our questions. Great communication, never had to guess about anything. Great process, punctual, efficient and did a great job keeping the work area clean. Highly recommend this family owned company!

EPDM Roofing for Residential Low-Slope & Flat Roofs

D.L. Williams Roofing installs and repairs EPDM roofing systems for residential low-slope and flat roof sections throughout Central Virginia. EPDM is a durable rubber membrane commonly used on areas such as garages, additions, porches, and other sections where traditional asphalt shingles are not appropriate.

Why Choose D.L. Williams for EPDM Roofing

EPDM flat roof replacement

Professional EPDM Roofing Services

EPDM Installation

EPDM Installation

• EPDM installation is commonly used for residential flat and low-slope roof sections where asphalt shingles are not appropriate. We evaluate the existing roof and substrate, prepare the surface as needed, and install the EPDM system according to the requirements of the roofing system and application.

• EPDM membranes are durable and resistant to moisture, UV exposure, and temperature changes. The expected service life depends on the installation, exposure, maintenance, drainage, and other site conditions.

EPDM Repair

EPDM Repair

• EPDM repairs can address problems such as punctures, membrane damage, flashing issues, seam problems, and other localized failures. We first identify the source of the problem and evaluate the overall condition of the membrane. If a localized repair is a reasonable solution, we'll explain the repair needed. If the roof has deteriorated to the point where repair is no longer a practical long-term solution, we'll explain why replacement may make more sense.

EPDM Maintenance

EPDM Maintenance

• Regular inspection and maintenance can help identify drainage problems, membrane damage, deteriorated sealants, flashing issues, and other conditions before they develop into larger problems. Maintenance needs vary depending on the roof and its environment, so we can recommend an appropriate inspection schedule based on the specific roof.

Our EPDM Roofing Process

1. Inspect the Roof

We evaluate the existing roofing system, roof slope, substrate, drainage, flashing, and areas of concern.

2. Explain Your Options

We'll explain what we found and whether repair, replacement, or another solution makes sense.

3. Install the EPDM System

When replacement is appropriate, we install the roofing system using materials and installation methods appropriate for the project.

4. Final Inspection & Cleanup

We inspect the completed work, address any remaining details, and clean the work area.

FAQs about EPDM Roof

What is an EPDM roof and where is it typically used on residential homes?

EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) is a synthetic rubber roofing membrane commonly used on flat and low-slope residential roof sections. It can be a good option for garages, additions, porches, and other areas where the roof slope is too low for traditional asphalt shingles. EPDM systems can be installed using different methods depending on the roof design and substrate.

How long does an EPDM roof last?

The service life of an EPDM roof depends on the membrane, installation quality, exposure, drainage, maintenance, foot traffic, and other site conditions. Properly installed EPDM systems can provide many years of service. A good rule of thumb is around 20 years, but we don’t use a single lifespan number to represent every roof. The applicable manufacturer warranty and expected performance will depend on the specific roofing system selected.

Is EPDM roofing a good choice for residential properties in Central Virginia?

EPDM can be an appropriate roofing system for residential flat and low-slope sections where asphalt shingles cannot be installed.

How is EPDM roofing installed and what maintenance does it require?

EPDM is typically installed using one of three methods: fully adhered (glued directly to the roof deck), mechanically fastened, or ballasted (held down with gravel). D.L. Williams Roofing selects the appropriate method based on the specific application and substrate. Maintenance is straightforward: inspect twice a year for punctures, lifted seams, or debris buildup, and address any issues promptly before water infiltration occurs.
